Question :How badly did I screw my FIRST midyear paper given the lack of preperation? (6marks)

Ans:

From the given lack of practise, I PREDICTED that I will do really badly for the exam even days before it. It's showed that I only chose my final solo pieces the minute before the exam. This means that I will have to focus on more songs than expected and therefore, losing precious practise time and performing badly during the exam.

However, there are other factors that lead to the failure of today's exam such as my solo pieces, the duet with Ben and my duet with Nelson.

I can infer from my solo pieces playing that they are really screwed. The 2 examiners said that I “fluctuated a lot” while I was playing the second song and that is why I was marked down and even though my first piece “isn’t that bad”. They are trying to portray the fact that I did really badly and stopped many times during the piece and therefore unable to score well for this section.

My duet with Nelson was pretty much a failure. This is due to the lack of practise with each other due to “excess CCA meetings” and “extra remedial lessons” this few months before the exam. Although I am “free almost every time” but whenever I’m free, Nelson will not be free. Worse of all, every time we’re free to actually practise, Ben will be there to interrupt. This therefore caused us to lose a lot of precious practise time and lose out under the coordination sector.

Benjamin did extremely well for his last minute duet with me. He “has not touched his violin since the End-Of-Year Exam last year” and that he’s planning to “sight-read through this exam” too. This shows that he wouldn’t practise his violin and will of course, perform really badly. This will also affect his sight-reading skills and his sense of rhythm and therefore, being unable to coordinate with me during the exam.

Therefore, I conclude that I had screwed my first midyear paper, the Music-Practical Paper, to a VERY GREAT EXTENT!

I AM SO SCREWED!!!!!!! DX

I wrote this to cheer myself up because I did well for for my most recent SS test.
